The aluminium built of Gordon also contributes to its phenomenal performance and contributes greatly to its power efficiency. Aluminium naturally generates a protective thin oxide coating which keeps the metal from making further contact with the environment. Not only does the aluminium built protect Gordon against corrosion, but aluminium also is an excellent heat and electricity conductor and in direct relation to its weight is almost twice as good a conductor as copper.

Why Gordon – Flash Drying electric Towel Rail?
Temperature
Designed to operate at a constant Low Surface Temperature standard of 43°C ensures complete safety. The temperature will rise slightly when covered to minimise drying time and maximise efficiency.
Airflow
This was the clever part, how do you promote the convection currents that will provide a constant flow of warm dry air over the towel? This is where our two decades of experience designing high-performance radiators combined with state-of-the-art modelling techniques come in. It’s essentially all in the architectural design.
Humidity
This is where the traditional ladder rail design breaks down completely. Not only does it not provide adequate airflow, but due to the horizontal nature of the towel hanging it also traps a pocket of damp air underneath the towel that, once it has become saturated with moisture, cannot absorb any more and so prevents the towel from drying further in that area. Gordon towel radiator’s use of long vertical fins provides free air galleries that constantly exhaust the humid air, replacing it with dry air from underneath the towel warmer.

Proving energy efficiency with test programs.
Test program 1
Test 1 comprised of warming the towel rail with its recommended heating element of 350w. Whereas, Gordon's warming element was just 200w. The outcomes showed that to reach atmospheric humidity level, where all the towels could be considered dry, Gordon required only 84 minutes while the traditional rail required 27 extra minutes. In terms of powerful utilization of the energy, it implies that Gordon requires just 43% of the energy when compared to traditional rails to actually dry the towel. You can run Gordon throughout the year and still save up to £150 in energy prices when compared to traditional rails.

Test program 2
This test involved a traditional ladder towel rail as a direct comparison with Gordon. The ladder rail was fitted with a heating element of 200w, precisely designed to match energy consumption of Gordon. Within these conditions, the traditional ladder rails took nearly three times if compared to Gordon to get on the same level of heat.
The results confirmed that Gordon was more than two times more efficient when compared to traditional ladder rails. Not only does Gordon allows you to save a significant chunk in energy bills over its lifetime, it also contributes positively towards a greener environment.
